Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Colorado

Am I able to seal my record under these circumstances...

I have 2 misdeamnor charges, 1 is a domestic violence charge in which i completed all court requirements, the other is a theft charge, that orginally was a felony charge but dropped to a misdeamnor because what they said i had stole really hadn't been stolen and they said since i was already on probation i had to be charged. Am I able to seal my records?

"you had to be charged"? While that is a crock, you can seal any charges as long as they were dismissed or you were acquitted at trial. "dismissed" also includes guilty pleas to deferred sentences that are dismissed when all conditions of the deferred are met. If you were only "charged" on the theft, you can seal it and you should seal it because the original felony will set off alarm bells for employers.
