Does a filed mechanics lien expire after a period of time? Does it have to be rolled over to a judgement through small claims?

Re: Mechanics Lien

A lawsuit to foreclose a mechanic's lien must be filed in District Court within 6 months of the completion of work at the affected property. Title companies will normally require any such lien to be paid or bonded around for up to two years after recording, but if you want to bring suit in small claims court, you can only sue for money, not for foreclosure of the lien.
