Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Colorado

I had a car reposed when I was living in California and now I am in Colorado, this was a few years back. Now they are suing me for $8000 and I am not sure what to do. I have spoke to one attorney and he said claim bankruptcy but I am not wanting to do that either, but there is no way I can pay $8000.

First things first. You need to answer the complaint and I strongly recommend that you speak with an attorney before you file the answer as you may have various defenses and you must make those defenses in your answer or they may be waived.

Once you filed a complete response, then you can determine options such as if you are judgment proof, if the statute of limitations defense applies, and if the amount at issue is accurate. Speak with an attorney as soon as possible.
