Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Colorado

My son died 3 weeks ago today and my question is this: If he brought furniture from a friend on her credit account and was paying her up until his untimely death. Does she have the right to take possession of the furniture in the home that the Mother is in?

I am sorry for your loss.

A creditor, like this person who lent the money, generally cannot just go to private property and remove items. If they have a claim they can attempt to get compensation from the estate of the deceased.

Contact a probate attorney if you have questions on the passing and the probate process.
