Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
A limited liability partnership that turned out to be a scam.
What are my options in the state of Colorado for getting action against the general partner for literally taking the money and not providing any accountability for how it was spent or what it was spent on? In fact, the general partner did not even provide the limited partners with a signed partnership agreement. The business that the partners invested in was in the tourist business, selling travel packages. The GP closed down the partners' business with the excuse that ''The events of Sept 11 killed the tourist business.'' He then opened his own identical business, using the same sales staff, selling travel packages from the same location in Colorado Springs, CO. In fact, the GP used part of the partners' investment to buy a building, which he later quit-claimed to his own business. This GP has a long history of scamming partners and customers; however, no one has been able to prove it to date.
