Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Welfare Fraud

In 1996 I was convicted of Welfare Fraud in Los Angeles, CA. I have paid all the funds back & successfully completed the probation, case close 03/02.

After getting hired for a job with US Bank in Denver & having had to do a fingerprint check this information came back so I could not take the job. I was told after completing probation & paying funds back it would be lowered to a misdemeanor but that did not happen. I currently reside in Denver, Colorado.

How do I get the charge dropped to a misdemeanor so this won't show on my record as a felony?

Re: Welfare Fraud

NO felony conviction in Colorado can be lowered to a misdemeanor. Since the conviction did not happen in Colorado, CA law applies, but any attack on the conviction must be done in a CA court, under CA law ONLY.
