Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

My husband has approximately 40,000 in back child support for his 15 yr old and 13 yr old. He is trying to resolve the back support. Is it possible to negotiate a lower amount to settle the back support? IE: If we could settle it for 25,000 ( which we would obtain a loan for) and then he plans to pay his monthly from here on out.

You can negotiate a settlement for child support arrears. You definitely would want to tread carefully in the negotiation as interest can come up, if it has not already. But people will often settle. Definitely get the agreement in writing.
