Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

I live in washington state but have a custody order in the state of colorado where my daughter was previously residing. Her mother has moved and been residing in las vegas nevada for more than 6 months. I need to file an emergency order and past case information is extremely relevant. Am I able to file this motion in colorado or do I need to transfer it to las vegas?

You can file your motion in Colorado, but the case can be moved to Las Vegas (if that is where the children now live) so you need to be prepared for the possibility that your ex will seek to have the case moved to Las Vegas. Unless someone actually asks to move the case, however, Colorado retains continuing jurisdiction.
