Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

I will be representing myself in court against ex-husband to modify child support. He has an attorney. I need to identify his average rental income to include on Child support Worksheet. Can I email his attorney directly and ask for last 12 months of bank statements to determine rental income? Do I courtesy copy ex-husband on email?

Since you are acting as your own attorney then you certainly can contact his attorney just like any other attorney would. If you want to be able to enforce your request, you will need to send formal discovery, but you might start with an informal request to see if you get what you think you need.

You are not required to cc your ex (and a real attorney would be prohibited from doing so) but you can tell him about the request if you want to do so.
