Legal Question in Immigration Law in Colorado

Thankyou for answering my previous question, but it seems that I need to give more detail.

My greencard has expired. My application for renewal was received by the immigration service about one month ago. I am British but a permanent resident of America through marriage. I currently work and reside in the U.S.A.. My employer may need to send me to Asia for three weeks in January 2012. If I travel with my British passport will I be able to re-enter the U.S.A. legally and without jeopardizing my permanent residency status.

Yes. You will need to travel with your expired permanent resident card, a current passport and the receipt notice for your permanent resident card renewal. As long as you have not abandoned your permanent residence by remaining outside the U.S. in the past for longer than 6 months at a time, you should have no problem on reentry.
