My superior asked me to present evidence about a list of complaints that my secretary had written about me, her boss... I went into her personal file at our office and pulled it out with out her permission. Does she have a case for legal action against me for that?

You had no business going into the personnel file of someone who had complaints against you.
Whether or not she can make out a legal case, depends upon what her complaints were.
You've certainly helped her case though, whatever it was.
