changing deed from joint tenancy to tenancy in common.

Can a real property quitclaim deed be changed from joint tenancy to tenancy in commen without the knowledge of the other party or do both parties have to agree and singn.

Legally real property ownership cannot be changed without the notarized signature of both parties on a new deed.

Of course such documents have been the subject of forgery for years, particularly between husband and wife.
