child travel permission

im married but separate, and my wife is trying to take my son out of state from connecticut to puerto rico without my permission, is that legal? my son is 3 months old.

Is she taking the child for vacation or permanently? If permanently, you better go get a court order stopping her.

Nevertheless, I thought that if a parent wants to take a minor out of the country, he/she needs to have a notarized letter from the other parent. If I'm right, I'm not sure Puerto Rico is included under this rule. You may want to check a government website that deals with this sort of thing. Or you can call one of the airlines.
