Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

How do I get Mt husband to quit claim the house to me in our ongoing divorce settlement. He moved out refuses to pay half of mortgage but will not take his name of deed if I pay the mortgage by myself. The house is under water and I don't want to do a short sale. can the judge force my husband to quitclaim or help pay the mortgage?

You can file a pendente lite motion for contribution to household expenses, which may not succeed if he is out of house and forced to pay living expenses. If the house is underwater, the short sale may not be a bad idea, especially if you can't afford the house on your own and there is no equity.

You didn't mention if you have any children. They may be relevant to whether a court will order him to contribute to the mortgage.
