Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My ex has sole custody and wants to terminate all visitation. I went to a concert and had one drink and now they are going after me for being an alcoholic. Can my private life effect my visitation? I never drink otherwise and would never drink around my kids. How can the courts go after my private life?

A parent who abuses drugs or alcohol may be denied visitation if their conduct endangers the child. Endangering the child might entail a circumstance where alcohol causes the parent to uses abusive language, drive while intoxicated, mistreat the child in any way. A court is likely to deny or restrict visitation if any of these circumstances are met and shown by the moving party.
