Re: Copyright

You already have. Once an idea is put into tangible form, whether on paper, tape or in computer memory, then copyright attaches. There is no need for a notice.

You are probably thinking about registering your copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office. You can read more information about the benefits associated with copyright registration at http://www.netatty.com/services/copyrightreg.html.

Re: Copyright

Tim Walton is correct -- you already have satisfied the requirements of the Copyright Act if your work is original and expressed in tangible form.

There are a variety of procedural advantages to filing a federal copyright registration with the US Copyright Office. This is particularly useful if you think that someone is likely to infringe upon your works.

Please let me know if you would like help in filing, or if you would like a referral to a good IP lawyer in CT.
