Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Connecticut

I run a blog that publishes sports news and analysis. Can I use copyrighted AP or Getty images on my blog? Fair use states that if the use does not compete with the original because it is a parody, criticism, or news report, it is more likely to be permitted as "fair use." Since my site reports news, can I use these copyrighted images?

A copyright attorney will say the new report, fair use exception applies to a specific news story about the copyrighted image. You can't stretch it beyond this limit. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
