Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

Do we have to accept a new travel trailer with defects?

We agreed to purchase a new 2006 travel trailer on 2/26/06. We gave them a deposit check at the time we ordered it. The company ''lost'' our trailer once it came out of the factory and could not find it for 2 weeks. Once they received it, we went to see it and it had seven defects in it, four of which we consider totally unacceptable. The is a 3 inch piece taken out of one wall panel, the nails can be seen on the ceiling and the bathroom door has a big gap on the top and no gap at the bottom. In appearance, it looks like the bathroom door is warped. They promised to fix these things, now, 2 weeks later, they say that the company is refusing to send out a new wall panel and WE have to contact the manufacturer. We are due to see it again this week. They are telling us that they can force us to accept the trailer. They did cash our deposit check back in Feb. If it is not to our expectations, can they force us to take it even though it has never been to our lot? Thank you.

Depends on contract you signed. Did you have an attorney to protect your interest?
