Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

I own a home in Colorado Springs. The initial lease expired in February. A new lease was sent out, but never returned, however, tenants continued to reside in my home paying rent month to month. They are still claiming that I am responsible for the repair of non essential items, even though they have no lease, and are telling me they are vacating in 15 days. So my question is, 1. Am I still responsible for repairs even though there is no lease. 2. Are my tenants required to give me 30 days written notice before leaving, and 3. Are they considered squatters?

You are still responsible for repairs. They are considered month to month tenants under the same rent and terms as the lease. No, they are not squatters. Did you accept the rent they paid? They do need to give you 30 days notice, if that is in the lease, or they will be in breach of lease. Note, I am a CT attorney so its best to confirm with CO counsel.
