what does a summary judgement mean regarding a foreclosure?

The answer isn't usually a simple one. Generally, summary judgment means that there is no issue of material fact and therefore the moving party should "win" as a matter of law. I don't know why a motion for summary judgment was brought in your foreclosure action, other than a guess that some complicated series of mortgage and loan transactions resulted in the action. Without more information I can not comment further.
