Legal Question in Elder Law in Delaware

Guardianship

I am considering trying to obtain guardianship of my grandmother. Her POA is my alcoholic and drug addicted sister and I feel she obviously does not have our grandmother's best interests in mind. My mother and her sister have not been involved in her care since she became disabled. Is this process complicated and where do I begin?

Re: Guardianship

In California, you can go to a Probate Assistance Program and get a Conservatorship of the person for free (assuming you lack funds to pay an attorney.) You must go to an attorney and pay a fee if you are trying to get conservatorship of the estate (finances).

If you are trying to conserve the finances you must see an attorney.
