Re: i WANT MY CHILD BACK

Sure, you could file for custody of your child, but you would apparently be well advised to first seek a consultation with an attorney knowledgeable in Virginia family law matters who should be able to give you sound guidance as to how best you should go about it.

First and foremost you need to clarify

who exactly these people are who apparently currently have custody of your child and what were the circumstances(both yours and his) which allowed them to take custody of him. You should be aware that a piece of paper signed by a parent purportedly giving other persons the right to assume custody of a child, means nothing, legally speaking(even if it's notarized). Only a court of law has the legal authority to make such determinations.
