Legal Question in Immigration Law in Egypt

My cousin lived in the U.S. on a green card for 5 and a half years and then moved to Egypt and lived there for 5 years. Her green card expired and now she wants to move back to the U.S. and get her citizenship. Can she just renew her greencard and what does she have to do to do that?

If she tries to enter with her green card she will most likely be told that she has abandoned it and is no longer a permanent resident. She is not eligible for citizenship if she has been out of the US for 5 years. You may need to seek alternative ways to get another green card for her (if any are available).
