Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

A Investment Co bought our house and Never Paid it off!!

My question is how can a Company that said they were buying our home and we went to closing and got our proceeds, now will not pay off our mortgage. This investment group owner said he would buy our home for a percentage of what it is worth, and close in 2 weeks, so we went with him. I researched everything about the company and him, so I thought it was all legite. Because of 3 hurricanes we had in our area of Florida there were no apartments or rental homes, so I asked him if we could rent for 1 year from him, he agreed and at closing he had us sign the 1 year rental agreement. At closing he asked us if he could have a couple months to pay of our mortgage because another house of his fell thru and he had another deal in a couple months. We trusted him, but found out he never paid off our mortgage, we are done renting from him, and had to move to Texas to live with his parents because we have nowhere to go, but he wont return calls or pay off the mortgage..He is still paying the mortgage even after our rental ended in oct 2006, but now i see he has our house listed on his website as you can have this home for 5%down then take over the payments, we dont have the money for a lawyer, so can you email for call us with help?..PLEASE..

Re: A Investment Co bought our house and Never Paid it off!!

This is a problem, because the mortgage is still in your name, but possibly you gave the deed to the "investor". Our office can help you, we will need to have copies of all documents provided to you at the closing as well as the lease agreement; to review and be able to respond giving you our opinion as to the next course of action.
