Re: State of Florida Discriminates against Disabled

I would recommend that you contact the local county bar association and ask for a referral to a lawyer who specializes in discrimination cases. Most lawyers offer a free initial consultation. You can speak with a lawyer about your case and see if it is worth pursuing. I do not practice law in your state, therefore I am unfamiliar with the laws. From the facts you presented, your wife may have a good case of discrimination against her former employer. If a driver's license was not a requirement of employment, and she had another form of appropriate idetification for her W-4, than they may have discriminated against her. As I sayed before, I do not know the complete facts of your case, and I do not know the laws of Florida, so I strongly recommend that you consult a lawyer in your area. You may also want to file a formal complaint with the EEOC for discrimination. If they feel your wife was discriminated against they will investigate further. They will also issue a right to sue letter which you need before you can file a government claim. A government claim must be filed before you can file a civil lawsuit. As you can see, there are a lot of agencys and paperwork you have to go through before you can even file a lawsuit against a government entity. That is why I recommend consulting a lawyer. I wish you the best of luck.

Sincerely,

John Hayes, Esq.
