Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Copy Right laws

If I wanted to copy a text book and resale the text book via the internet what do I have to do to be legal. Is there a copy right issue and if so how do I make payments to the author and or the publisher? I only want to do college text books if that matters.

Thyank you

Re: Copy Right laws

Laws, including those relating to copyright, matter. Making a commercial enterprise and a profit by deliberately violating them may invite a legal problem that you could have easily avoided. Copying someone else's work product and then selling it to third parties online without any license or permission from the person or entity with rights to such work is something I recommend you NOT do. To learn whether you can acquire rights to college text books for purposes of selling such books online or otherwise, you should meet with and retain a lawyer. For all you know, another person or entity already has exclusive rights to do what you want to do relative to the particular college textbooks you are interested in selling. Good luck.
