Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

I would like to know if a car dealership has a legal right to demand to see a real time online view of one's personal banking webpage in order to confirm funds in checking account before accepting a personal check.

Car Max in Tampa, FL pulled this on me in order to accept a simple $149 personal check to cover automobile purchase costs not paid for by credit union.

Seems to me this is an invasion of ones personal privacy. Can they legally do this to people or have they over-stepped their rights and trampled on our right to privacy? If they can't, I'm sure that there are probably hundreds of people who they pulled this on.

Thank you for your time.
