Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

I entered into an agreement with a models management company in Sarasota, Florida and gave the director a deposit of $ 250.00 and found out after an investigation of this company that the money being paid to them for photography did not result in me getting the photographs and CD with the photos unless I paid the balance of $ 500.00 in cash

I asked the director if he would have some of his models contact me to advise if they were getting bookings for modeling jobs as the gency said they would do.

I am scheduled to have the photo shoot on 2/21/10 but I am unwilling to pay cash for the balance of the shoot until I get the photos. I feel unless I use a credit card, there is no protection for me with thi company and they want the $ 500.00 prior to the shoot.

They will not return the $ 250.00 deposit. I am a senior male model and can't afford to lose the $ 250.00.

Look at the agreement you signed. If the agreement states that you will get what you want after payment witnin a certain period of time, you have that at least to sue the company on. If not, I suggest you put together a simple agrement that states that after you pay the $500 additional expense that the company will deliver to you the photos and CD, and what ever else they promised, within 30 days or less. The agreement should also state that that they have received the $500 in cash. Or, you can simply get a reciept for the cash.
