Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

We got screwed!!!

My wife and I purchased an automobile from a private seller. She told me she had the engine changed about 50,000 miles ago or so and that she had been taking the car to a dealership every 3,000 miles for an oil change. On the way home about 50 miles into the drive the engine completely blew up because there was not enough oil to keep the motor going. The oil that was inside had turned into sludge. I took it to a dealer who told me the engine had not been taken care of and that it would cost me $5,000 for a new engine. How can the law support people who do these kind of things to others. She lied from the start. I didn't even get 50 miles down the road without the engine completely blowing up. Can anything be done about this.

Re: We got screwed!!!

You can ask the seller for your money back and that she can pick up the vehicle from the repair shop. If not you can sue her for fraud, etc. How much did you pay for the vehicle?
