Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

My ex-husband and I purchased a vehicle when we were married. I took hold of payments and doing the best I could paying them back. However, it wasn't good enough for them and they threatened me with reposession. That was when my ex said he would take over because he didn't want his credit messed up and I gave him the truck willingly and purchased a small buy here, pay here vehicle. Now he is in arrears over $2000 and he won't take their calls and doesn't try to make payments. They want the vehicle and I have given them his new address so they can go get it, but they are threatening me with garnishing my pay to pay for truck. I have my own vehicle I am paying for and I am also paying people back that lent me the money to get this vehicle. Are they allowed to do this as far as garnishing my pay, and is there a way I can get my name off of the loan besides re-finance because they won't do that either.
