Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I had a family member open up a phone account in my name without my permission it was my daughter. I found this out when I had my credit report pulled. I feel the company should of asked for a id before doing this it am I correct or not? I don't have the funds to pay it off right now but need it taken off my credit report. what options do I have? Is prosecuting the only option I have to remove it? Or can I go back to Alltel and ask why why they did this with out any personal id?

No law requires that a personal id be given when taking out credit, though I agree it would be the wiser idea. It sounds like Alltel will do what most companies will do: they won't come after you and they'll take it off your credit if you agree to prosecute. That's standard for these situations.
