Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

My husband and I had a truck reposessed 13 years ago. His wages are being garnished, 25% of his bring home pay. We both have jobs but are having a hard time paying bills. We have a court date scheduled to try and get the wage garnishment stopped. This is only 1 of our many mistakes. We would like to get our credit straight. We prefer not to do bankruptcy. I would like any advice that anyone could give. Is it possible for this to be dropped in court? My husband makes the majority of our money. I work as a Medical Assistant and am still trying to pay for my student loans.

You should probably speak to a bankruptcy lawyer to see what your options are. There is no disgrace to bankruptcy. The laws are there for a purpose. If it makes sense given your circumstances, to start over, then do so.

Obtain a copy of your credit report. If there are errors on the report, or debts that should have been withdrawn if greater than 7 years, or for some other reason, send a letter to the credit agencies as outlined in my web site at www.Consumerlawyerhelp.com and also send a copy of this letter to the creditor in question. If this does not work, see a consumer lawyer in your area. See http://naca.networkats.com/members_online/members/directorya.asp?token=
