parent's death

Is there a responsibility for paying hospital bills after death of parent?

If so to whom to pay? Medicare & Blue Cross/Blue Shield were payers with a $3000 out of pocket for the parent. Does the out of pocket still have to be met? Both parents now deceased.

Parent's estate, if any, is responsible, not children.
