Can a person go to jail for not paying back a loan in Florida

No, people don't go to jail for not paying debts. But if the creditor gets a judgment, he/she can slap a lien on your assets, garnish wages, etc. The judgment is good for 20 years. So, make sure you consult with an attorney before you let a collections lawsuit go unanswered.
