Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

responsible for credit debt in the event of spouses death

My husband was the primary on a credit card and i have been still using my card even though my husband is deceased. 3 years later the credit card company closed the account due to his death even though i had kept up the good credit and will not allow me to use it. Am I responsible for this debt even though they closed they account?

The obligor for payment is the card holder. Here you used the card and received benefit, knowing the staus of the cardholder. If you were to be sued, you be hard put to avoid liability. Try to settle.
