Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Do I have to send a debt validation letter to a law firm who's trying to collect money if 1) I don't owe the person they are trying to collect from any money and 2) I disputed this amount with the credit card company and they refunded my account. Should I include this information in the debt validation letter? There was no contract and no service provided.

You don't have to do anything. However, by sending the letter, certified return receipt and retaining a copy of the letter specifically outlining that the debt is not valid and providing proof why its not valid, you have created great evidence against them for potential violations of the FDCPA. I would be as detailed as possible in the letter you send, provide them copies of any documents you have that prove your position. If they are smart they realize their error and go away.
