Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Statue of limitation on medical bills in Florida

My wife had surgery in July of

2000. The insurance went belly

up and there was a company

hired by my employer to settle

all outstanding debts. I don't

think everything was resolved

but we have heard nothing

from any providers until

8/23/08 We received a $26,000

dollar bill from the surgeon.

How can they do this? There ws

never anything that has

showed up on our credit reports

to let us know that this was not

resolved
