Is there a time limit for motions to be be made. I filed an Affirmative Defense on 06/15/09. I received a Motion to Strike Affirmative Defense on 08/21/09

Yes.Depending on which court you are in and what judge you have, there are deadlines and requirements. They are contained in administrative orders and local rules. Typically they require that responsive motions be filed within 10 days of reciept of a motion. You'd have to review the local rules and administrative orders to know for sure.
