Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Arrest and Warrant

My ex husband has failed to pay financial court obligations in Polk County, Florida...on his drivers license it noted that his license will be suspended and he also has a warrant number...His license will be suspended as of 2/25/08...how long will the warrant be out for? Is it just a 72 hour warrant? Can another county arrest him for this warrant?

Re: Arrest and Warrant

Theoretically, the warrant stays out for life and any police agency in the United States can arrest him.

Re: Arrest and Warrant

It is most likely a civil Collections Court warrant. If so there is a purge associated with it. He should pay the arrearages (back payments owed) and continue to pay his costs as required. This will lift the warrant,

After he does this he also should pay the clerk of court a reinstatement fee for his DL before the suspension date.
