Is attempted robbery considered a violent crime

Yes, robbery is considered violent. Maybe if the "attempt" was not substantial then it could be considered less violent. In essence robbery is a theft where force is used to achieve, or attempt to achieve, the theft or getting away with the theft.

Yup. Robbery counts. An attempt at a violent crime also counts. If possible pleading to a different charge, like grand theft, is preferable.
