Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

My friend is in jail he had 2 weeks left on probation.He got a new charge of grand theft.The man who is a family member after pressing the charge droped the charge.How long does the state have to process the charge or abort the charge. Can they compell the man who pressed the charge to testify.He cant bond out on the grand theft because of the probation hold. how can he speed up process.

If you can afford a lawyer clearly that is the easy answer. A lawyer may be able to help on the case prior to the state filing charges and convince them not to file.

You would want to make sure that the victim files a "waiver of prosecution" with the state attorney.
