Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

legal question

my son is being forced to declare on a homicide case,hes not being a used as asupoena,but the detective still inssist he comes in and declare on the case,he was at the scene but did not see who comitted the crime,still the dectve tells him to come to his office to talk,detective tells him if he doesn't show up he can issue an arrest warrant, can he do this or shuold i hire a lawyer to go with my son? the person that was murdered was a close friend of my son,someone told my son that some of the defendants friends have threatned that anyone who declares against the defendant is goin to get it,im scared for my son please help me,the detective dont seem to care and i feel his intimidating my son.

Your son is not required to speak to the detective. Your son is not required to speak to anyone unless he is under subpoena. You should definitely find him a good criminal lawyer.
