Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have a pending criminal case in Florida, but live in Virginia part time. I was arrested in Virginia with a fake id in my pocket. I never used this id,Virginia dismissed the case. Now Florida wants to prosecute me on the Virginia ID. Do they have jurisdiction?

If they had jurisdictioin to arrest you in Florida for an alleged crime committed in Florida then it doesn't matter what state the ID says. However, I would need more facts to be sure. You should either call an attorney or go see one.

I assume you are talking about Florida state prosecutors, not Florida federal prosecutors. If the state prosecutors don't have proof that you carried the fake ID within the Florida state borderlines, then Florida doesn't have jurisdiction to prosecute you on that offense.
