If a different has already pled guilty to a crime and been sentenced but the judge allowed them to turn themselves in at a later date, if they do not turn themselves in can their sentence increase?

Sometimes judges allow for self-surrender. It not unusual for a Judge to impose a higher sentence at sentencing but agree to reduce it to the original sentence upon surrender.

Also, not showing up to start a jail sentence makes you a fugitive and subjects you to additional charges.
