Legal Question in Elder Law in Florida

My dad who is 85 yrs old is being ill served by youngest

brother who holds POA. He is not being

cared for and I suspect that there could

be mismanagement of funds . He refuses to be transparent with siblings who live out of state, myself included. How can I help my father so he can live a quality & peaceful life .

Thank You in Advance,

Super concerned daughter

If dad still has moments where he understands what is going on around him, he has the ability to revoke the power given to the youngest brother in favor of someone else. If he no longer ever has capacity to make decisions for himself, it would likely be necessary to commence a guardianship proceeding. Financial elder abuse can also be reported to the state for them to investigate.

Best of luck to you.
