Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida

Showing a copyrighted film for school

At our school we are attempting to show a screening of a movie for the students. I was inquiring as to the laws prohibiting such activities and/or leagal requirements. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Showing a copyrighted film for school

If you are showing a movie for educational purposes and not for a commercial purpose, it is not a problem. Of course, if the movie is rated R or contains material that may be offensive to the students and/or their parents, you may want to get written consent from the parents before showing the film.
