Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

i have a 7 month old, father in and out no help financial or otherwise . he was serverd papers for child support treatens to kill himself, now wants to fight for custody, i have the police reports and the messages what else can i do ? i dont feel she would be safe with him. hes caused himself to get into car accident. help,.

If you were not married when the child was born, he would need to legally establish his paternity of the child before he could seek any sort of time-sharing/custody with the child. Obviously, if he has had these types of issues in the past, it will be difficult for him to prove to the court that it is in the best interest of the child to spent significant amounts of time with the child without supervision.
