Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am looking into adopting my step daughter and have questions about the birth father's consent. In FL it seems there are ways around having to get his consent with his violent and neglectful past, but it is unclear how we would go about bypassing the need for his consent without hiring a lawyer, which we just can't afford. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to have him served, he is entitled to due process. It is recommended that you hire a lawyer.
