Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Back in April, a child support case was opened against me which somehow reopened an old case from the same person that was closed back in 2012 by the Department of Revenue. I was informed that because the case was never closed in court despite being told personally by the DoR, local child office and the Clerk of Court that everything was done and there wasnt anything for me to do I currently owe $27,000+ in retroactive as the payments have been accumulating over the years. Again, I was never informed of this by anyone and all letters stopped coming until she reopened the case. Since then I have gone into a written agreement with for Child Support which has I stuck to. However, I recently had an old tax return released to me and taking to be applied to my backpay. This hurts because it was years fighting for it to have it taken. Regardless, this isnt even my issue. I dont mind taking care of my children but I havent been able to see them for the last 2 years because their mother moved and changed all of her contact information because shes sleeping with my ex-best friend. I dont care about any of that, I really just need to know how can I make it so that Im able to see them? Whats the difference between time-shared and visitation rights?

You will need to petition the court for a time sharing order. That will include visitation as well as overnights, vacations etc.

If this issue was covered in the original Order then you will have to file a Petition.

You have to file motions to enforce the existing parenting order, if any, or petition the court to establish your parental rights.
