Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Desperate

My husband abandomed me after 10 years of marriage we have no children(miscarried). I was verballly/physically abused. He did not want me to work and left me with no money and a house that my sister has been helping me to pay so I can have a roof over my head. I've been searching for an attorny but it seems that since I don't have children he can just walk away without any consequenses. Please help me understand if I have any rights...

Thank you,

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

You have the same rights as your husband has. In addition, you might be able to convince a judge to provide some temporary support (rehabilitative support) for a short time to enable you to be able to rehabilitate yourself and find gainful employment. Florida courts do not award alimony for a marriage unless it is long term which is generally considered to be 12 - 15+ years.
